Treasury Note

Paper money worth 10 shillings or one pound, issued by the British Treasury on the outbreak of the First World War when specie payments were suspended, and continuing until 1928 when the Bank of England took over responsibility for note-issuing. They were popularly known as Bradburys, from the signature of the Treasury official, Sir John Bradbury, engraved on them.
